Windcorp Brass Band are happy to announce that Johan Bejke and Josefin Runsteen will join the band on Percussion from the forthcoming spring season. Both Johan and Josefin helped the band during this autumn season and we wish them good luck!2009-10-23
Cutt & Murphy with WindcorpWindcorp Brass Band started off its season in early October with an intensive rehearsal weekend under the direction of Gary Cutt. The conductor of Foden's Band has visited the band before and there has developed a good relationship between him and the band. The highlight so far was the win at Grenland International Brass Band Festival last year.
This time the main focus for the band is to retreive the Swedish National title to Gothenburg in November, and Gary then has the opportunity to add a Swedish National title to his already impressive CV. When he now returns to the band he also brings Lucy Murphy from Williams Fairey Band to fill a vacancy on flugel horn.
The set test piece will be Gothic Dances by Alan Fernie, who will be present as the Guest of honour at the championships. Add to this an exciting own choice item that really suits the band and you realise that the pre-contest concert at the weekend before the Swedish Nationals will be something not to miss.

Chairman Andreas Kratz has had a very pleasant trip to England this weekend. For the first time ever a Swedish Brass Band player has competed with an English 'Top' Brass Band at a big contest. Together with Fodens Band conducted by Garry Cutt, Andreas (who played the Solo Trombone) placed 3rd at the English Nationals in Preston.2009-04-23
This weekend one of the banding world's most successful conductors, Garry Cutt, will work with Windcorp Brass Band!Garry conducted the band during the International Grenland Brass Festival held in Norway 2008, which led to a 1st place in the competition, and we are glad to welcome him back to Gothenburg and Windcorp Brass Band. Garry will also work with the band during the forthcoming Swedish Championships in November and we hope our cooperation will lead to another success.
Since 2005, Garry is the permanent Professional Conductor of the Fodens Band.

Windcorp Brass Band are happy to announce that Klas Jareteg and Mathias Granberg have accepted to play Eb tuba in the band. Klas played the Bb tuba in WBB last autumn and both Klas and Mathias are members of the Betlehemskyrkans Musikkår.For 2009 Jonathan Gustavsson will play 2nd Cornet and we also welcome him in the band! Jonathan is a former member of Göteborg Brassband.

Jörgen Kjellgren made his last performance with the band (for this time...) during Rhapsody in Brass, held in Stockholm last saturday. The band and the board would like to thank Jörgen for his contribution during these years. With wise thoughts and always positive thinking he has been an inspiration to all of us. We wish him all the best in the future and hopefully we´ll see you soon in one way or another.2009-02-02

During Rhapsody in Brass the band got invaluable help from Tora Thorslund, trumpeter at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. Ulrika Holm, our regular flugelhorn player, had a sore lip and couldn´t perform so Tora replaced Ulrika at short notice. Windcorp Brass Band would like to thank Tora for helping us at this precarious situation.
